Proposal Deadline: June 30, 2008

Funding

LLNL supports projects with funding from University of California. Funding for the IGPP Minigrant projects is limited to $50,000 per project. It is expected that three or four projects will be funded.

The funding is to be used for UC Graduate Students and/or UC PostDocs:

  • Graduate student and/or postdoc salaries
  • Attendance at scientific conference where a paper is presented

This year particular consideration will be given to proposals seeking to study astromaterials (i.e. extraterrestrial materials) using LLNL's state-of-the-art analytical instruments including nanoSIMS, SuperSTEM, focused ion beam (FIB) and mass spectrometers. IGPP also maintains a strong connection with the Center for Accelerator Mass Spectrometry and supports applications of AMS to geologic problems.
